Rules

Safetys
Safetys in football play a key role in protecting the quarterback. They patrol the third level of defense behind the linebackers and defensive line. Their job is to be the last player the opposing offense has to beat before scoring a touchdown. Safetys are also often called strong or free safeties. Strong safeties are usually bigger than free safeties, and are usually assigned to cover the “strong side” of the offense, which is usually the side of the tight end.
Rules of the game
There are many different rules and regulations that govern the sport of football. The first set of rules came into existence in 1863 and were drafted by Ebenezer Cobb Morley, the secretary of the Football Association. Morley later served as curator of the National Football Museum.
