The millionaire figure that the IOC will distribute to the international federations for Tokyo

It has been more than a year since the 2020 Tokyo Olympics (which were played in 2021 due to the pandemic) ended. Nevertheless, the International Olympic Committee (IOC) will distribute a millionaire figure among the international federations of the 28 disciplines that make up the program: 540.3 million euros.

The news was confirmed by the Association of Summer Olympic International Federations (Asoif). This same sum of money was the one that was distributed in the previous JJ.OO. (Rio deJaneiro 2016). Thus, the athletics federation (World Athletics) took the lion’s share with 39.4 million euros.

Behind her were the gymnastics federation (FIG) and the swimming federation (Fina) that will receive 31.36 million each. Later, with 24.34 million were the soccer, basketball, volleyball, tennis and cycling federations. In addition, Asoif will receive a small part of the total sum: 2.71 million.


Rowing, badminton, judo, Olympic shooting, table tennis, weightlifting and archery will also receive their share: 17.31 million. Now, another sport that should appear in this group would be boxing. Nevertheless, his part was withheld by the IOC due to governance conflicts. Even from the organization it is planned remove it from the program for the Los Angeles 2028 edition.
