The ‘I+DXT 2022’ program starts rolling with equality projects developed by six sports federations

During the presentation ceremony, the managing director of the Fundación Jovenes y Deporte, Sonia Bejarano, thanked the involvement of both LaLiga as the main sponsor and the different sports federations in Extremadura that will carry out their different projects that begin this November.

Bejarano also wanted to remember that this program was born from the need to know the participation of women in the framework of sport and physical activity in our region, which already in 2018, with a study by the University of Extremadura, led to ‘I+DXT ‘, whose objective is focused on preventing early abandonment of sports practice in women, in addition to empowering, making visible and promoting the practice of physical-sports activities, as well as stimulating and promoting their training in the sports field in areas such as management, technical, refereeing and/or management personnel, among others.

In this sense, the managing director of the FJyD emphasized the transversal importance of this type of initiative when it comes to achieving effective equality between women and men at all levels, undoubtedly contributing to the empowerment of women in this and any other sector and favoring their access to management and leadership positions so that sport in Extremadura continues to be written in feminine terms and recalled, in the same way, that it is necessary for all agents to be involved in achieving this objective, as well as in the implementation of awareness, education and visibility campaigns so that new generations understand that women can and should occupy these positions on an equal footing.

Participating Federations

In order to develop the I+DXT 2022 project, the Extremadura Sports Federations that submitted their applications to the open call months ago, were able to choose between launching projects in the Event modalities, Theoretical-practical Multidays or the creation of an Equality Plan for the entity, with 4,500 euros being the amount allocated to each of the selected projects. In the same way, and as an essential requirement, the participating Federations must have a Sports Director to carry out their duties within the framework of the program (with the necessary qualifications and training), in addition to complying with current regulations and legislation in various areas.
