The Houston Astros win the MLB for the second time in history

Houston’s head coach Johnny Baker, at the age of 73, became the oldest coach to win a championship in one of the four major sports leagues in North America. This is Baker’s first championship in his 25-year MLB coaching career.

Jeremy Peña was recognized as the most valuable player of the final series, receiving the MVP award for the third time in history for a freshman.

As you know, the best teams of MLB’s American League (AL) and National League (NL) meet in the World Series Finals. The Astros won the AL this season, while the Phillies were the best team in the NL.

Last year, in the finals of the World Series, the Atlanta “Braves” beat the “Astros” 4-2 in the series to four victories.

The record holders of the World Series are New York “Yankees” baseball players, who have triumphed in the final series 27 times. The New York team won the last title in 2009.
