Croatian national football team on Sunday World Cup in the final tournament convincingly with 4:1 beat Canada.
Andrejs Kramarić scored two goals for the winners, who thanked John Herdman, the head coach of the Canadian national team, after the game. “Thanks to the Canadian coach for additional motivation. We demonstrated who was who took the front.” After the first match of the tournament against Belgium, the Canadian coach, motivating his subordinates, vulgarly stated that they would beat the Croatians in the next one.
“Not in the first 20 minutes,” answered the Canadian coach after the loss when asked if he regrets what he said. ”It seems that Croatia respected us. As I said, we came here to get as far as possible. I could have been more subtle, but I have to learn from this mistake myself. In the first 25 minutes, we proved that little Canada can compete at the highest level in the world.”
On the other hand, Croatian head coach Zlatko Dalić emphasized that his colleague did not go to shake his hand after the game. “After the match, I did not see the coach of the other team. He wasn’t there and maybe that’s his way of doing things. Canada has a high-level coach, but it will take time for him to learn the relevant skills.”
After the win, Croatia is the leader of Group F with four points, while Canada has no points and is no longer in the running for a place in the round of 16. On Thursday, Croatia will finish the group stage against Belgium, and Canada against Morocco.
