Tennis: Guido Andreozzi stayed with the Temuco Challenger

Guido Andreozzi defeated Nicolás Kicker this afternoon 4-6, 6-4 and 6-2, in the final between Argentines, to stay with the Temuco tennis Challenger in Chile and also achieve the 23rd title obtained by compatriot players in the category this season.

Andreozzilocated in position 901 of the world ranking of the ATP and born in Buenos Aires 31 years ago, emerged at the club Harrod’s and he was absent for a good part of the 2020 and 2021 seasons, following a surgical intervention on one of his shoulders.

In his reappearance on the circuit, Andreozzi recovered from an adverse start and, after losing the first set, managed to turn the game around and win the final two sets to beat Kicker, a 30-year-old from Buenos Aires, from the city of Merlo. and located in place 201 of the ecumenical ladder, after 2 hours and 25 minutes of the game.

In this way, with the victory, Andreozzi reduced the record against Kicker, who now leads him 3-2.

Kicker’s wins had come at Challenger and Futures tournaments in Rio de Janeiro, Prostejov and Quito, all in 2017; while Andreozzi’s previous success had been in Santo Domingo in 2016

The Temuco Trans-Andean Challenger, in the penultimate week of competition in the category, was held on cement surface courts and distributed a total of $106,000 in prizes.

With this victory for Andreozzi, the Argentine tennis players will take over title number 23 in Challengers-type tournaments this year, a record for the category that follows the ATP in importance.

The most winner of the season is Pedro Cachín, from Cordoba from Bell Villa, who celebrated in Madrid (Spain), Prague (Czech Republic), Todi (Italy) and Santo Domingo (Dominican Republic).
