Sports meetings: the children discovered the linked disciplines

Cycle 2 students from the CP, CE1 and CE2 classes took part in a sports meeting at the Georges-Brassens school in Baraqueville.

The opportunity to welcome the pupils of the school of Carcenac and Moyrazès in the morning and the schools of Magrin and Lavernhe in the afternoon to share this sports day at the municipal stadium of Baraqueville. On this occasion, the pupils were able to discover the practice of the chained disciplines offered by the Usep association (Union sportive de l’enseignement du premier classe) to which the school is affiliated and which aims to make children aware of living together in through sport via the development of sports activities complementary to physical education.

But what are these linked disciplines? It is for the students, divided into pairs, to discover three disciplines, namely: archery, trotti and run and orientation. Each pair was able to discover and learn about the practice of these three activities then at the end of the morning, they were able to chain these three activities in the form of a challenge one after the other in the manner of a mini -triathlon. The scooter and run race proved to be a real performance to achieve despite the large wheels of the scooters. This race was done in relay within the pair, each one being able to alternately run or do the course on a scooter, side by side. A real cooperative challenge for which the children were able to support each other and encourage each other. Orienteering was offered as an initiation with a game called “magic square”. Using a card, each pair had to validate beacons using an electronic finger. Or how to combine sport and learning digital technologies. The children were delighted with this discovery.

A great discovery for our students and a great success for all! The sequence of activities requiring intense effort that everyone brilliantly took up.
