After four days of competition in the Under-17 category, the province won the title in 3×3 basketball, male and female, and in male beach volleyball; also the runner-up in men’s futsal and third place in women’s beach handball.
The decisive matches were played during the morning of this Saturday. In 3×3 basketball, the women’s team defeated Santiago del Estero in the final by 11-7, achieving the championship undefeated. María Müller (El Coatí), Catalina Barneix (Vanguardia), Mery Kleiven (OTC), Josefina Palacios (Vanguardia) and Vanesa Benítez (coach), made up the team.
For its part, the men’s team was crowned after beating La Rioja 13-6 in the final. Franco Mendieta (CAPRI), Genaro Cabrera (Tokyo), Juan Libutzki (Tirica), Ángel Azúcar (CAPRI) and Nicolás Boeri ( coach), formed the squad.
While the duo made up of Marcos González and Alejandro Guerrero, guided by coach Ranci Soto, won the men’s beach volleyball title. In the final they defeated the local, Formosa, 2-0 in set.
Meanwhile, in men’s futsal, the definition was very tight. Misiones was close but finally fell 4-3 against Catamarca. He achieved the runner-up, a deserved award for the good tournament that the team played, represented by Atlético players

The third place obtained by the women’s team in beach handball was also meritorious. In the final match, the girls beat Jujuy 2-0. Cecilia Leiva, Luciana Gundes, Kiara Segovia, Martina Álvarez, Katya Kolomiejec, Ivone Pereyra, Micaela Forcado, Paula Soza and coach Susana Alfonso made up the squad.
The awards ceremony was held during the closing party, this Saturday at noon at the Centenario stadium in the host city. Within this framework, Misiones received the Challenger Cup for having been the province that added the most points among all disciplines, with a total of 120. Then, Chaco -for having a first place- and Formosa with 100 points.
In addition to Misiones and the host province, Jujuy, Salta, Catamarca, La Rioja, Santiago del Estero, Tucumán, Corrientes and Chaco also participated in the second edition of the Norte Grande Games. The organization was in charge of the Secretary of Sports and Community Recreation of the Government of Formosa, in coordination with the sports administrations of each province. The missionary delegation had in Formosa the encouragement and accompaniment of the Minister of Sports, Javier Corti.
