Silver for Versus Legnano with newcomer Tommaso Pucci

After 3 years of forced absence due to Covid la Versus Legnano she’s back to racing and winning. In Turin, in the first stage of the national MMA and Grappling championship of MMA Italy, the team, the most titled in the Alto Milanese area in combat sports, fielded only one athlete: the rookie Thomas Pucci aged 17. «For him – he comments – explains the Maestro Guido Colombo – it was a start with a bang ».

In fact, the young athlete won the MMA tournament and took silver in grappling (a form of wrestling without kimono that combines techniques from judo, free wrestling and jiu Jitsu). A double placement that earned the student of master Columbus also the trophy as best athlete of the event. «An exceptional test – explains the Versus coach – because Tommaso was not only making his debut but also because he was forced to do it among the seniors given that in his category (weighing 79 kg) there were no junior athletes registered. So he found himself facing bigger and much more experienced people but despite this he showed off a performance that we don’t hesitate to define as dominant. Started in both disciplines from the quarterfinals in MMA he won 2 out of 3 matches before the limit. In grappling he did the same in the first round, won clearly in the second and finally lost narrowly in the final against a much more experienced athlete. Great technical performance and also athletics because 6 fights in just over 3 hours are a truly remarkable effort».
