Safer mobility for cyclists and pedestrians and a solution to the problem of heavy vehicle traffic. These were the themes at the center of the meeting between the municipal council led by the mayor Gaffeo and the residents of the Sarzano hamlet.
Among the projects carried out and presented by the mayor there is the positioning by Ecoambiente of baskets placed in the center for decoration. Asphalted via San Michele del Carso and via Teano where 4 lighting fixtures powered by photovoltaics have also been replaced. Regional funds were requested together with the Province to finance the connection of the provincial road coming from Anguillara by connecting it to the Rovigo-Adria regional road, to relieve traffic in Mardimago and Sarzano. And again, the construction of the Sarzano-Buso roundabout.
As for sports facilities, on the other hand, the bathrooms and part of the roofing of the changing rooms of the Campo degli Arcieri (former sports field of Sarzano) have been redone. In detail, the bathroom for the disabled has been created. The intervention made it possible to adapt the system for the regional archery championships. In addition, an asbestos canopy was removed, with the reconstruction of part of the roof, an intervention of over 40,000 euros, financed for the most part by the municipal coffers and the remainder by regional funds.
Among the initiatives under construction, instead the pedestrian crossing in correspondence of the primary schools in Sarzano which will be put into operation next year together with that of Mardimago always in correspondence with the primary schools. The amount already allocated for both was 50 thousand euros. For the medical clinic question, a special space was identified on the ground floor of the primary school. The process has yet to be completed.
The word was then passed to those present who pointed out, first of all, the need for more sidewalks, the reduction of the speed of vehicular traffic in the center and safe crossings. They also reported important depressions in via Calatafimi, between via Teano and via dei Mille and requested interventions in the green areas for benches, games and trees in via Campiello and via Quarto. And again: finish the asphalting of the Rezinella, where the drain has been drained, and to solve the problem of crossing via dei Mille to connect the whole hamlet to the cycle path.
