San Martín defeated Los Pehuenes and got into the Final Four

The kids grow. If we compare it with last year’s tournament, the kids have matured a lot. It is that before they had faces of children and they acted like children. Now everything changed. Both Román Garat and Sebastián Leyton matured a lot in their performances in the tournament, in favor of the team, so much so that both can easily be in a starting five today.

They still have the face of children.

San Martín de Esquel left Los Pehuenes de Bariloche on the way and got into the Final Four directly and sent those in green to play the reclassifier. He did it based on the solvency of these two players, but there were also others who did not clash and played with category, although some even with cottons.

This is the case of Gerónimo Rossi, who returned to the first team after a long period of inactivity, while Guillermo Iturburu also shows that the season is taking its toll on him.

Let’s remember that San Martín stayed if one of his point guards, Juan Martínez Aguirre, was injured last week and although it is his wish to be in condition for the Final Four, he is practically ruled out.

That is why Daniel Kees trusts the kids, especially in the U17 where, in addition to Leyton and Garat, we must not forget Renzo Milani, who played many minutes in the first division. Another of the U17 of the San Martín team that asks for a clue in this matter of ownership or being the first replacement.

San Martin won very well. They defeated Los Pehuenes of San Carlos de Bariloche by 60 to 48 (partial from 34 to 16) and except for the third quarter where the Esquel team could barely convert 8 points, the rest of the game was in favor of San Martín.

Of course, we must refer to the fact that, in that third period, Román Garat (with three accumulated fouls) and Gerónimo Rossi were on the bench, and the coach put him on the pitch very slowly.

With this result, the cast led by Daniel Kees got into the Final Four, in the shooting guard position, behind Zorros de San Martín de los Andes, but the important thing (at least for us) is that he was able to get through the reclassification phase and therefore he will have a rest weekend which, to tell the truth, for this team is more than important.

The trip to Santa Rosa (La Pampa) by the U17 and last week’s game in San Martín de los Andes against Zorros was a huge drain.

That is why this team, totally renewed and youthful, if we compare it with the last edition of the Pre Federal Tournament, showed a category in playing everyone as equals with more victories than defeats.

San Martín played a total of ten games in this qualifying phase, with seven wins and just three losses (two away, against Zorros and Pehuenes, and one at home, against Municipal Zapala).

Now we will have to wait. Rest first and kick back later.
