Para badminton Olympic vice-champion, Faustine Noël, brought back three beautiful medals from the world championships, which were held in Japan.

With her Breton teammate Lénaïg Morin, who also trains in Cason-Sévigné, near Rennes, she lost in the women’s doubles final, against the reigning Paralympic champions, the Indonesians Oktila and Sadiyah.

Faustine Noël is also the godmother of Fabrice Payen’s trimaran, “Ille et Vilaine Cap vers l’inclusion”, which she met in the village of the Route du Rhum in Saint-Malo before this competition.

Faustine Noël lost in the women’s singles semi-final against the Norwegian Helle Sofie Sagoey, (7-21, 17-21), who won the competition. After her two European silver medals in 2016 and 2018, the Rennaise won an encouraging bronze medal on the world level, less than two years from the Paralympic Games in France.

She also brought back a bronze medal with her mixed doubles teammate, Lucas Mazur, after a semi-final against a Thai pair (Theamarrom – Saensupa) who surpassed them.

A poor performance for the two French badminton players who were aiming for a first world title but a new medal despite everything on the international chessboard.

Inevitably, coming back without this title is a shame but at the same time I bring back three medals from a World Championship” believes Faustine Noel.

“Not many of us do it. [cette performance] on this global. I know that there will no longer be women’s doubles at the 2024 Paris Games, so to finish with this beautiful silver medal with Lenaïg, it’s great, especially since we just failed a year ago here. in Tokyo” she adds.
