A message of faith and hope

Fr. Antonio María Domenech Guillén, a Spanish priest from the Diocese of Cuenca, told ACI Prensa that these days “it is common, much more than we think, that hope is being lost.”

“We have faith, but this conviction that God watches over us with a promise of life much more endearing and immense than we can think, what we could call hope of eternal life, already begun on this earth, has almost been lost” , assured the Spanish priest.

As a consequence, “we have also left behind the necessary charity to consider that our love is curative and healing for others. We have feared the pure love of the Lord, not seeing God in our brother”.

In this sense, warned Fr. Domenech, “a society without hope and love is doomed to absolute involution, to disappearance.”

true life

The priest also told ACI Prensa that “excessive values in defense of the ecosystem take precedence over life, spiritual meetings take precedence over encounters with the living Christ; expect more from an animal than from a person, they do not lead our time on the right track.

For this reason, he highlighted the urgency of “stop filling life with things, and start filling things with life, but with the true life of the Holy Spirit.”

“To Him, I entrust all those people who suffer, due to their situation or past injuries, so that they can be healed, and they are aware that their Love is also comforting for others. This way anyone can help life make sense”.

Fr. Domenech recalled the Spanish Jesuit priest and blessed Tiburcio Arnáiz, who used to say that “on the path of giving yourself to others, only the first step is difficult.”

“Let’s not stop trying,” exhorted the priest.

To conclude, the priest exhorted: “You who read to me can help those who do not have peace, or even the illusion of living. Talk to God about those people, and then talk about God to all of them. Peace”.
