Pohang City Athletic Association (Chairman Na Joo-young) Youngilman Public Sports Club (President Kim Yu-gon, permanent vice president of Pohang City Sports Association) squash players made their names on the national stage.
The Youngilman Public Sports Club was honored to win the 1st place in the men’s squash team event at the 5th National Sports Club Exchange Competition (hosted by the Korea Sports Association) held in Jeonju, Jeollabuk-do from the 29th to the 30th.
The National Sports Club Exchange Competition is a competition in which 226 clubs from 17 cities and provinces across the country, selected for the public sports club competition that the Korea Sports Association has been promoting since 2013 to expand the base of local sports, participate.
In this tournament, 10 sports including basketball, martial arts, volleyball, badminton, swimming, gymnastics, squash, soccer, table tennis, and tennis were held with about 4,000 players from all over the country participating in this tournament.
Pohang Yeongilman Public Sports Club participated in the men’s adult team event in the squash event (Lee Jae-seong, Ha Dae-geun, Jeon Ho-yeol), and defeated Gwangju (B) and Jinju (B) in the 6-team league match. 1st place advanced to the quarterfinals, defeated Jinju (A) in the semifinals, and defeated Gwangju (A) in the final, winning 2 out of 3 games to win the championship.
