After the forfeit of Wejdan (n°6), fifteen competitors were in contention in the fifth of the day, disputed on the 1,300 m of the fiber sand track of Deauville. After winning his fifth last month on this Norman track, Shake Me Handy (n°7) easily doubled the bet, despite the change of surface. Quickly well placed in the wake of the facilitators, Aurélien Lemaitre’s partner made his effort mid-straight before creating the decision very easily. “His task was a bit complicated following his recent penalty. I took the risk of leaving more quickly than usual and this tactic paid off”, declared, delighted, his jockey who won for the fortieth time at this level.
At a distance from the winner, Sassy Rascal (n°13), well supported by Mickaël Barzalona, took the honors after an end of the race which did not go unnoticed. She leads by a short neck Poet (n°4), very brave all along the straight after leading the race. Mubaalegh (n°3), constant appearing, and Scottish Saint (n°10), author of a good end of race, could not be decided and complete the arrival of the quartet in front of Sense of Belonging (n°14), certainly the good mark of this event since this resident of François Monfort was still in the last row halfway through the finish line.
