Philadelphia Sixers sanctioned for contacting two rookies ahead of transfer market

The penalty fell for the Philadelphia 76ers. Punished for violating transfer market regulations by contacting two rookies, PJ Tucker and Danuel House Jr, before the authorized date, the Sixers will be deprived of the second rounds of the 2023 and 2024 draft.

« The overturning of these two draft picks reflects the findings of an investigation into the 76ers, which found that they engaged in discussions with two players, PJ Tucker and Danuel House Jr., prior to the date those discussions were allowed “Said the American Basketball League in a press release.

In the past, the Milwaukee Bucks had also lost a second-round draft pick, for trying to prematurely complete a trade with the Sacramento Kings to recover Serbian Bogdan Bogdanovic. The Heat and the Bulls also received the same sanction last year, because of anticipated discussions resulting in concluded exchanges, this time, to attract Kyle Lowry and Lonzo Ball in their ranks.
