Uriel Gomeztagle Ballesteros, Paulina Garnica Nochebuena and Zeltzin Hernández Guerra received the 2022 State Sports Award today, in a ceremony held at the monument to the Revolution.
Just this edition of the award had both particularities, since the ceremony was once again held in person after two years of the Covid-19 pandemic.
Likewise, the traditional venue was also resumed after the last face-to-face editions were held in Plaza Juárez.
The mentioned athletes, exponents of taekwondo, judo and associated fights, in that order, confirmed the generational change in the Hidalgo sport, since for all three it was their first award.
As for the ceremony, it was led by representatives of the state government, as well as by Fernando Pérez Serrano, high performance director, in the absence of Pipino Isidro Cuevas González, head of the Hidalgo Sports Institute (Inhide).
The gladiator, on behalf of the three winners, in her message asked those present to maintain their support for the sport, especially the winners, since in the coming years they will experience the Olympic process towards Paris 2024.
It should be remembered that the State Sports Award, in addition to the medal, recognition and pants, consisted of an economic bonus of 110 thousand, the amount of which was distributed among Uriel, Pau and Zel, remaining at 36 thousand 666 pesos for each one.

The edition of State Sports Award 2022 will return this Sunday to the monument to the Revolution, where they will decorate Uriel Gómeztagle Ballesteros, Zeltzin Hernandez Guerra y Paulina Garnica Christmas Eve.
The three athletes mentioned, representatives of taekwondo, associated wrestling and judo, were chosen from more than 20 candidates.
Gómeztagle was one of the most outstanding in his discipline, being the first from Hidalgo to qualify for the 2023 Pan American Games, among other international achievements that he accumulated in his record.
In the case of Zel y Pauthey had a similar curriculum, which gave them the State Sports Award, since both were medalists in the first Junior Pan American Games 2022, as well as another couple of awards in continental competitions in their discipline.
