The Italian driver finished ninth in the Valencian Community GP, a race won by the Spanish Álex Rins

Pecco Bagnaia, an Italian Ducati rider, is the new MotoGP world champion. The 25-year-old from Alps, who suffered more than expected in the last race of the championship, managed to finish ninth, enough to lift the title of the premier category of motorcycling.

The Turin native was already Moto3 champion in 2018 and MotoGP runner-up in 2021. The race was won by Spaniard Alex Rins, with Binder and Jorge Martín completing the podium.
