Patrick Williams is confident he has what it takes to be a star

As the Chicago Bulls try to stay afloat in a very competitive Eastern Conference, Patrick Williams has been very confident about his growth as a player, which is a must for his team to rack up more wins and move up the ranks. Fully immersed in his third season in the NBA, the power forward has indicated that he now has the necessary focus to continue progressing and build the career he desires as a player.

“I told you I was going to find out. I think I’m still figuring it out but I’m one hundred percent focused on being the player I want to be,” Williams said after practice this Sunday, according to the outlet. Yahoo Sports. “I always felt that I had what it takes to be a very good player in this league. But now I’m starting to feel like I have what it takes to be a star and a superstar in this league. I’m trying to assume that role and develop it day by day.”

During the Media Day Prior to the start of the season, Bulls coach Billy Donovan declared that the team needed Williams to take another step, not only for his own growth as a player, but also to increase the collective competitive ceiling. “I think it’s definitely a team effort,” Williams continued. “Guys have been telling me since my freshman year, and before that in high school and college too. I’m trying to focus on it and show it on the court.”

The man from Charlotte started the season in a very discreet way but little by little he has been recovering his application. In the last four games he averaged 12.8 points, with a 66.7% three-point success (10 of 15), 5.0 rebounds and 1.0 blocks in 29 minutes. «I had a bad streak at the beginning but I have put it behind me. The coaching staff and talking to my teammates helped this. But I think I came out of it just mentally. I know that it hurts the team when I don’t play well on either end of the field. I’m pretty proud of myself for how I’ve done ever since. I try to be the same guy every day and he talked a lot with my teammates.”

With Williams’ confidence growing, the player could finally start to show his true potential in his third year with the Bulls.
