Hendrawan does not deny he will return to train at PBSI National Training at some stage. But not for now.
This was revealed by the 2000 Sydney Olympics silver medalist while accompanying his athletes to participate in the PBSI mini tournament, BrightUp Cup 2022, at Tennis Indoor Senayan, Thursday (10/11/2022).
He again received questions from reporters regarding whether there was a desire to take care of Anthony Ginting et al. Especially now, the men’s singles coach is only filled with Irwansyah.
“Yes, the desire does exist and of course the conversation is always there, but deciding something is not that easy, in the sense that this is not being non-nationalist or not,” said Hendrawan.

According to the 2001 World Champion, there were many factors that finally made him stop his intention for a while. Because, Hendrawan said that training athletes is not as easy as turning the palm of the hand.

However, the 50-year-old coach did not deny that there were often offers from PBSI for him to join the Cipayung National Training Center.
“We often chat, including we always exchange ideas with PBSI what I think I can help,” said Hendrawan.
“One day, maybe I will come back, for sure,” Hendrawan emphasized.
Hendrawan himself had been the coach of Pelatnas in 2004. Then he left abroad, Malaysia, in 2009. His departure at that time was a big blow for Indonesia. Moreover, he left after accompanying the Red and White team in the Sudirman Cup. At that time, Indonesia was eliminated by South Korea in the semifinals.
Hendrawan recorded as a cold-handed coach by scoring outstanding players Sony Dwi Kuncoro and Simon Santoso as well as players in women’s singles. In Malaysia, he managed to lead Lee Chong Wei to become a champion in various BWF tournaments.
