Olivieri won and will play his first challenger final at the Uruguay Open

Genaro Olivieri (253rd in the world ranking) came from behind a great match against Italian-Argentinean Franco Agamenone (154th), whom he defeated 2-6, 6-4, 6-4, and advanced to the grand final of the Uruguay Open 2022. In this way, after several semi-finals lost in a row, he will be in a definition on the challenger circuit for the first time.

The 24-year-old tennis player, born in Bragado, came from getting into the semis at the Blumenau Challengers (defeat against Igor Marcondes), Tiger II (fall to Andrea Collarini) and Poznan (lost against Tomas Barrios Vera).

With this qualification for the final of the Montevideo Challenger, Olivieri is one step away from entering the Top 200 of the ATP ranking for the first time in his career. To achieve this, he must consecrate himself in the Uruguay Open.
