Olivia Borlée presents “Les grandes impressions”, a new sports program!

New on Pickx+! Launched in 2021, the Proximus digital television platform option (available for €4.99 per month) is launching this Monday, November 14, at 10.25 p.m., a new sports program entitled “Les grandes impressions” with, at the animation , Olivia Borlee.

Every week, for more than 40 minutes, our Olympic 4x100m relay champion (in 2008, in Beijing) will receive a renowned athlete to talk about her career at the start of an event that particularly marked her.

A first for Olivia (36) and her entire team. A challenge also for the athlete who has become a fashion entrepreneur with her own label “Unrun” which she created in 2016 with her teammate Elodie Ouedraogo. Explanations…

Olivia, how did this presentation idea come about?

“I was contacted by Proximus about a year ago, following my work as a consultant for RTBF during the Tokyo Games. I was flattered that people thought of me to host such a sports program. I immediately appreciated its concept for the general public, but also the idea of discovering less publicized sports. And the project materialized with the broadcast of the premiere this Monday, at 10:25 p.m., where I will play the role of a presenter.”

Tell us how your show will go…

“There will be two guests, an athlete and an expert. The program has been recorded. This is how the first athlete will be Jonas Gerckens, our navigator engaged in the Route du Rhum (Editor’s note: unfortunately forced, this Saturday, abandoned). He will be accompanied by Alexandre Homez, journalist and organizer, well known in the world of sailing. With him, we will discuss Jonas’ career at the start of a historic moment in the discipline with, of course, reports.”

Can you reveal the rest of the program to us?

“Once we agreed on the show project, we brainstormed and ideas came flooding in. I think we have around 30 subjects, among which we decided to work on seven episodes. program is weekly, they will take us until the end of this year, time for a first assessment. But I obviously hope that there will be a season 2 because I want to tackle a lot of themes.

What sports will you tackle between now and the end of the year?

“I can announce that there will be skateboarding and MMA, for example, two lesser-known sports that I will discover myself. There will be episodes devoted to tennis and also to football, World Cup oblige, with like starting point of the famous 1986 semi-final between Argentina and Belgium. On December 19, we have also programmed a subject that is particularly close to my heart on the marathon. The initial document will retrace the story of Kathrine Switzer, first woman to participate in the Boston Marathon in 1967. With my guests, this will be the opportunity to discuss more generally the condition of women in sport.”

Given your professional activities, which you reconcile with your family life, you must have really liked the project…

“Yes! I’ve always liked to take up challenges and I like this one a lot. In terms of substance and form because I work with a great team. I admit that the end of the year will be very busy, but I assume it, the family always being a priority for me. But I will give my all to ensure that this project succeeds and pleases the public. Frankly, I believe in it a lot!”

First meeting with “Les grandes impressions” by Jonas Gerckens, this Monday, November 14, at 10:25 p.m., on Pickx+!
