Nkunku, it’s more serious than expected!

Injured during the last training session at Clairefontaine before leaving for Qatar, Christopher Nkunku should be away from the field longer than expected.

The first examinations passed by the player suggested an absence of between six and eight weeks, but the RB Leipzig striker risks being sidelined for longer. Nkunku is indeed suffering from a ligament rupture in his left knee, which rather suggests a 10-week unavailability in the worst case. His club will resume competition in the Bundesliga against Bayern Munich on January 20.
