NFL: A feast for AJ Brown with three touchdowns, the Eagles still undefeated

Author of three touchdowns in the first half alone, AJ Brown led the Philadelphia Eagles to a seventh victory this season in a 35-13 victory against the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday afternoon.

Brown mocked the Steelers defense, despite plenty of two-man coverage, to finish the game with six catches, 156 yards and a trio of touchdowns in the first two quarters of the game.

Brown became the first receiver since Drew Bennett (Tennessee) in 2004 to make three 25+ yard touchdowns in the first half. Hurts found Brown on 39, 27 and 29 yards for a 21-10 halftime lead.

“I know I can’t let him down,” Brown said of his chemistry with Hurts. We just have fun and play for each other. I’m sure he knows I’ve got his back and I know he’s got mine too. »

AJ Brown mocks the Steelers after his 3rd touchdown!

Brown made an overhand grab in the end zone for his third touchdown as Minkah Fitzpatrick and Ahkello Witherspoon ran into each other. Brown then pointed to each of his fallen opponents, to the cheers of the crowd, and he was disciplined for mocking them.

“We were there having celebrations and everything,” Brown said. It’s funny. There is no such thing. »

The Eagles are 7-0 for the second time in team history and the first time since 2004, when Donovan McNabb and Terrell Owens led them to the Super Bowl. That year, the Eagles were robbed of an 8-0 start by a loss to the Steelers.

Jalen Hurts was once again flawless completing 19 of 28 pass attempts for 285 yards and four touchdowns.

Zach Pascal scored the Eagles’ other passing touchdown, while Mile Sanders also scored a major after rushing for 78 yards in the win.

Steelers quarterback Kenny Pickett didn’t have the same success with rushing for 191 yards after completing 25 of 38 pass attempts. The rookie was also the victim of an interception.

Pittsburgh now has a disappointing record of two wins and six losses.

The Steelers’ lone touchdown came when wide receiver Chase Claypool completed a one-yard throw-in to Derek Watt in the end zone.
