NBA: Golden State Warriors lose again

Do we have to start worrying about the Golden State Warriors? The reigning champion has lost for the third time in a row, with the Miami Heat suffering a narrow 109-116 defeat. Jimmy Butler is late in becoming a hero.

Miami Heat (3-5) – Golden State Warriors (3-5) 116:109 (BOXSCORE)

First, the Heat star brought his colors in front with an And-One, ten seconds before the end he then closed the cover on the Heat’s only third win of the season in the eighth game from the middle distance. For the Warriors offense, on the other hand, nothing went together from downtown in the crunch time.

In the first three periods, Golden State still had a slight advantage thanks to the strong shooting (15/34 threes up to the fourth quarter), but in the last round the worm was in it (3/15, 18/49 overall, 36.7 Percent). In the end, Stephen Curry’s tenth career triple-double didn’t help (23 points, 13 rebounds, 13 assists).

Andrew Wiggins contributed 21 points, Klay Thompson scored 19 points. However, the Splash Brother also missed several good opportunities in the final section, hitting only 4 of his 12 three-pointers. Jordan Poole also had problems with the shot (9, 1/7 threes), and last but not least, 20 Warriors turnovers – including a noticeable number of dribble errors – led to 28 direct heat points.

That was too much to end the losing streak. Otherwise, the shooting quotas and the other statistics were quite balanced, but Miami started with fewer mistakes (15 turnovers) and had butler in the crunch time. He ended the game with 23 points, 6 rebounds and 8 assists. Best heat scorer was Max Strus (24) and Duncan Robinson also showed a good performance from the bench (17, 5/8 threes). Bam Adebayo also had 19 points, Kyle Lowry had 13 and 9 assists. Tyler Herro was forced out early with an eye injury.

Warriors lose leadership – Butler makes everything clear

The game started promisingly from the Warriors’ point of view. The guests had the hot touch of Downtown, in defense Golden State acted with much more intensity than last. The early 8-point lead was quickly wiped out, however, as Golden State lost rhythm and defensive grip against the Heat’s zone defenses. Miami ended the first quarter with a 20-3 run and Strus’ buzzerbeater as the icing on the cake (33-24).

The Heat didn’t manage to pull away, though the West Coast guests went almost four minutes into the second quarter without a successful field goal. Thompson ended the losing streak with his first goal of the evening, Bam hammered several dunks through the trap on the other side – and Butler two triples in a row. But now Golden State ended the halftime with a small run, it went into the dressing room with 56:58 from the Warriors point of view.

The start of the second half belonged to the Dubs again. Thompson apparently took a strong sip of target water at half-time, Curry seamlessly joined the rain of three and then put it down Wiggins’ next triple with this Harlem Globetrotters move on to the +10 for Golden State. With the Stars on the bench, the lead dwindled a bit, but Moses Moody had an answer. 94:86 for Golden State after three rounds.
