In the end, the dedicated Stephen Curry couldn’t be blamed. The superstar’s 50 points – Curry crossed that magic hurdle for the eleventh time in his career – didn’t prevent the Golden State Warriors’ eighth loss in their eighth away game. After the 119:130 at the Phoenix Suns (9:5), the Californians have a meager six wins and nine defeats.

More games from the night

The Orlando Magic would like to have six wins. After the clear 108:126 against the Minnesota Timberwolves, there are still four of them – with eleven defeats. Bol Bol countered with a double-double (26/12), which Franz Wagner just missed (18/6). Anthony Edwards (35 points) and Karl-Anthony Towns (30) led the T-Wolves to their seventh win of the season. The Magic were still missing rookie Paolo Banchero and center Wendell Carter Jr. with injuries.

Rockets surprise in Dallas

Without the rested Luka Doncic and the injured Maxi Kleber (bruised back), the Dallas Mavericks also suffered a home defeat. Against outsiders Houston Rockets (3:12) they scored 92:101, which Christian Wood could not prevent against his former team despite 26 points.

Isaiah Hartenstein and the New York Knicks, on the other hand, recorded a narrow 106:103 win over the Denver Nuggets, who played without star center Nikola Jokic. The 24-year-old played again from the start, but was without points due to foul problems with three rebounds and one block.

Celtics with eight wins in a row

In the top game of the evening, the Boston Celtics defeated the Atlanta Hawks 126:101. Last season’s finalist had seven players with a double-digit tally of points and clinched the eighth win in a row. The Celts are first in the Eastern Conference (12:3), the Hawks (9:6) third.

The Milwaukee Bucks – Brook Lopez with 29 points – prevailed 113:98 on Wednesday against the Cleveland Cavaliers, who after their good start and eight wins in the first nine games have now lost for the fifth time in a row.
