Jakarta

The MotoGP series for the 2023 season starts today. Not the main race, but the riders will test their racing bikes for use in the 2023 season.

Today, Tuesday (11/8/2022), the MotoGP riders will conduct the Official Valencia Test. There, some MotoGP riders are already wearing uniforms and riding new mounts after signing a contract with his team.

In this series of tests, the race teams will issue various improvements to their 2023 engines. It is estimated that there will be many innovations that are present in MotoGP motorbikes for next year.

Apart from the technology side, we can see the new uniforms that will be worn by some MotoGP riders. Like Jack Miller who will wear the orange uniform after joining KTM. Starting today, Miller will ride the KTM RC16 motorcycle.

Miller is not the only driver to enter the Austrian manufacturer. Moto2 World Champion, Augusto Fernandez (Red Bull KTM Ajo), will debut on a MotoGP machine with the GASGAS Factory Racing Team, while Pol Espargaro will return to riding the KTM RC16 after moving from Repsol Honda.

Honda will also welcome former Suzuki riders Joan Mir and Alex Rins. Joan Mir will ride the factory RC213V with Marc Marquez in the Repsol Honda Team. Meanwhile, Alex Rins will wear the LCR Honda Idemitsu uniform with Takaaki Nakagami.

“This will be another important test for the Japanese manufacturer (Honda) as they continue to overhaul their bikes in an effort to provide a more competitive package in 2023,” wrote MotoGP on its official website.

Aprilia will also make a breakthrough. The Italian manufacturer welcomed its first satellite team with Miguel Oliveira and Raul Fernandes driving it.

Ducati also can not be underestimated. Enea Bastianini will be the team-mate of the 2022 MotoGP World Champion Francesco ‘Pecco’ Bagnaia on the factory Ducati team. Enea Bastianini’s position at Gresini Racing will be replaced by Alex Marquez.

While in the Yamaha camp, they still maintain Fabio Quartararo and Franco Morbidelli. The Pramac Racing and VR46 Racing Team riders are also the same as the 2022 season.
