Moritz Wagner makes a comeback in the Magic defeat

Franz and Moritz Wagner are on the floor together for the first time this season. After recovering from an ankle injury, Moritz Wagner makes his season debut.

Moritz Wagner missed the Orlando Magic’s first 18 games of the season after undergoing ankle surgery in the offseason. Because of this, the Big Man had to do without the European Championship. Wagner returned to the floor against the Philadelphia 76ers.

The Magic lost 99-107 to the weakened Sixers, who were without Joel Embiid, James Harden and Tyrese Maxey. In his season debut, Moritz Wagner had seven points (1/6 3FG) and five rebounds in 17 minutes from the bench. Franz Wagner was the Magic’s top scorer with 24 points (9/10 FT). Orlando’s top pick, Paolo Banchero, also returned after recovering from an ankle injury.

The Sixers turned the game around with a 30:20 in the third quarter, in the final section the guests fended off the Magic’s comeback attempts. “Our energy and toughness weren’t there in some of these crucial moments – we just reacted,” analyzed Franz Wagner. Shake Milton had a strong game with the Sixers with 24 points, nine rebounds and ten assists.
