Mignolet rewarded with international top position

During the World Cup in Qatar, he will normally have to acknowledge his superior in Thibaut Courtois, but Simon Mignolet can look back on an excellent first half of the season. And the Club Brugge goalkeeper will soon leave his mark on international football even more. This is how he joins the ‘Global Player Council’ of the FIFPro.

Mignolet has gained a lot of experience at the highest level throughout his career. And he now wants to use that experience to help determine the future of global football. For example, he was included in the ‘Global Player Council’ of the FIFPro, the global trade union of professional football players.

The GPC is an important advisory body consisting of about thirty professional football players worldwide. In addition to Mignolet, there are well-known names such as Giorgio Chiellini, Arturo Vidal, Nicolas Tagliafico, Lucie Bronze and André Ayew. The CPG is regularly asked for advice and suggestions on the functioning and future of global football.

IMPORTANT VOICE

Mignolet is therefore proud of this top position and looks forward to contributing. “I’m excited to join the GPC. It’s important that players have a voice and be part of discussions that contribute to better conditions for footballers around the world,” he said on the FIFPro website.
