Mexico complicates its qualification to the Basketball World Cup

Mexico.- The Brazilian basketball team defeated Mexico 102-56, which complicated their qualification for the World Cup to be organized by the Philippines, Japan and Indonesia in 2023.

Bruno Caboclo was the best Brazilian scorer with 16 points and 10 rebounds. Francisco ‘Pako’ Cruz was the best Mexican, with 20 units.

The South Americans moved up to second place in group F with seven wins and three losses, one victory less than the United States leader; Mexico dropped to fourth place with six wins and four losses.

The South Americans could secure a place in the World Cup in the sixth and final window, in which they will receive Puerto Rico and the United States.

Mexico is playing its last chances to attend the fair in its next two games, when visiting Colombia and Uruguay.

The sixth window will have its first game on February 23, 2023 and will close on the 26th of the same month, when the Americans who will qualify for the World Cup will be announced. EFE
