The Mexican Basketball Team defeated Uruguay 80-60 in a match that took place in the University Auditorium Gymnasium in the city of Chihuahua.

In this confrontation, the team was led by players Gabriel Girón (6) and Francisco “Pako” Cruz (4), who together scored 10 of the 14 triples total of the Mexican offense, giving the squad its second consecutive victory.

In this regard, the head coach, Omar Quintero assured that the job of the Mexican offense was to applaud itself for stopping a team that has many offensive weapons.

“The work that the guys did to stop two great players like Bruno Fitipaldo and Jayson Granger is hats off,” he said.

On the other hand, Girón, who served as Mexico’s top scorer with 20 points and also added 6 rebounds, explained that the team psyched itself up to do a good job of defense, “knowing that Uruguay is a team that can complicate with its offensive”.
