Mauritania: open days to raise awareness of the virtues of sport

This event, which covers all sports, including traditional sports such as non-strike wrestling and target shooting, aims to raise public awareness of the health, economic and social virtues as well as the integrative nature of the practice of sports. .

Abderahmane ould Ethmane, president of the Mauritanian National Olympic and Sports Committee (CNOSM), explains that the objective of these days was to help create the conditions for synergy of action between the different federations, to raise public awareness of the importance of the practice of sports and establish strategic partnerships with the players within the framework of dynamic cooperation actions.

Abdel Kerim Diop, secretary general of the Mauritanian Judo Federation, hailed the organization of a day which allows the authorities and the public to be exposed to the activities of this federation.

Mariam Kane, vice-president of the CNOSM and member of several international bodies, linked the organization of these open days to the importance of the practice of sports, whose economic, social impact and integrating nature are known to all. . She also hailed the rapid progress made on the gender dimension, both in practice and the integration of women at the level of the authorities.
