Lukasz Teodorczyk puts an end to his career at the age of 31: “My body no longer wants to follow” | Soccer

Without a club since this summer, Lukasz Teodorczyk announced on Saturday that he was going to end his career. The 31-year-old Polish striker explained on Instagram that “his body no longer wanted to follow”. Teodorczyk previously played in the Jupiler Pro League, at Anderlecht between 2016 and 2018 then at Charleroi in 2020-2021.

“The last few years haven’t brought me what I expected,” he posted. “I spent more time indoors than on the training ground. I tried and fought, but my body doesn’t want to follow my head anymore. I can’t give 100 per cent. That’s why I quit.”

During his career, Teodorczyk enjoyed success as a striker, notably with Anderlecht. With the people of Brussels, he scored 45 goals and distributed 9 assists in 93 games spread over two seasons, between 2016 and 2018. He also participated in the last title won by the RSCA in 2017.

After his time in Brussels, the Pole joined Udinese in Serie A in the summer of 2018. He never broke through at his new club, scoring just one goal in 32 games. He was then loaned out to Charleroi for the 2020-21 season, but he couldn’t do better than one goal in 17 games. After a six-month stint at Vicenza, a Serie B club, the Pole had been without a club since this summer. He racked up 19 caps and 4 goals for the Polish national team.
