Linda Caicedo is the new ambassador of the Mi Sangre Foundation | football curiosities

The arrival of the Colombia Women’s U-17 National Team to the country was not long in coming. The national team led by Carlos Paniagua and his coaching staff was runner-up in the World Cup in India in that category, an unparalleled award in the history of Colombian teams worldwide.

Never in history has a Colombian National Team managed to settle in the final of a World Cup like the U-17 team did. Although they could not against Spain in that instance, they rode against all odds, without a league, without much activity and preparation of the players and did everything possible to win the title. In fact, an unfortunate goal against Ana María Guzmán was the only way for the Iberians to break the zeros at the end.

With its overflows, its speed, its collective game, the Colombian National Team dreamed of winning the title with the daring of Linda Lizeth Caicedo Alegría who led the ship as captain after Mary José Álvarez Espitaleta gave her the title in the preparation matches against Chili. Linda, the one who made an entire country dream, came back with infinite prizes such as the third scorer of the tournament with four goals, the Silver Ball and, as if that were not enough, she was nominated for the Globe Soccer Awards and entered the finals for recognition as the best player of the 2022. She swept Alexia Putellas and the other competitors in the voting.

After the return of the Colombian Women’s U-17 National Team, a cast that traveled at dawn, without much rest and without sleeping, arrived with a special welcome from all the Colombian people who recognized their work. They may not dimension it, but they broke the barriers that put millions of women in a country who dream of being professional players. They are the true champions and they made them feel like such. The tributes arrived at the Movistar Arena and the receptions of each player in their different cities did not wait long either.

But the best came to Linda Lizeth Caicedo Alegría who upon arriving in the country was recognized by a foundation based in Medellin and founded by singer Juanes and Catalina Cock in 2006. The ‘Mi Sangre’ Foundation’s main objective is to work for that dream of all that is the construction of peace in Colombia.

Fundación Mi Sangre is founded on developing skills for life, leadership and social entrepreneurship in children and youth, they weave networks and activate ecosystems that make voice viable and amplify and in this way, combining the different tasks, seek to prevent risks and violence, to that the new generations be protagonists in the construction of a culture of peace in Colombia. All this, according to the page of the foundation, which also seeks to contribute to building a country that respects life in all its forms and promotes love, equity, freedom, diversity, citizenship and shared responsibility.

After all that presentation of the Mi Sangre Foundation, Linda Caicedo already has a primary position. Not only is she one of the figures for many girls and boys in the country on the courts, but now she will also be a huge example in the fight for peace and, through social work, be the face of change and a a profitable future for young people with a clear sense of seeking peace in a nation heavily affected by violent acts, delinquency and vandalism where millions of boys and girls are affected.

Perhaps Linda Caicedo couldn’t measure it when she arrived from India, but little by little her life is changing. In the official accounts of the Mi Sangre Foundation, they wrote, “Today we welcome Linda Caicedo, our official ambassador of the solidarity day of the Great Day. Join this November 12”, and made an alliance with McDonalds, “buy your Big Mac at any McDonalds restaurant in the country and remember that 100% of the value of each hamburger will be donated to our work with other young people like Linda and the Casa Ronald Colombia Foundation.”

Without a doubt, outside the courts, Linda Caicedo is also an inspiration for young boys and girls in Colombia and why not, from different countries that are also fighting for change.
