Juergen Klopp flicked Darwin Nunez, after Liverpool conceded a goal by Tottenham Hotspur. The goal had made the advantage of ‘The Red’ threatened.

Liverpool won 2-1 at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, Sunday (6/11/2022) yesterday, in the continuation of the English League. A pair of goals from Mohamed Salah brought ‘The Red’ to a 2-0 lead in the first half.

Tottenham tried to catch up and gain momentum as Harry Kane narrowed the gap in the 70th minute. The goal provided a morale boost for the hosts, but Liverpool managed to hold them back and keep the lead.

Tottenham’s goal became an evaluation material for Liverpool, especially regarding Darwin Nunez. Nunez was not directly at fault for the goal, but he was caught off guard in his stint against Eric Dier.

Dier became the player who started the process for the Spurs goal, then passed to Matt Doherty, which was followed by a pass to Dejan Kulusevski. Kulusevski was the creator of Kane’s goal.

“It was a big blow, an unnecessary goal. Nice pass from Kulusevski. He came in, bing-bong, then it was,” Liverpool manager Juergen Klopp told reporters. Sky Sports.

“It’s tough, but you have to defend, that’s the way it is. You have to hold in half-space, on the flanks. Darwin, he’s a big force in attack. When defending, there’s still room for improvement.”

“He realized it, everything was super intense for him. But he was only one moment late and Dier came in, then the ball was in the penalty box,” he added as reported by Metro.
