José Ramón Fernández, new director: “It is an honor to work for Oviedo; We won’t charge a penny.”

The point of the day that aroused the most controversy is the approval that the directors receive remuneration for their work at the club, which will be a maximum of 400,000 euros in total. It was approved with all the votes in favor except three votes against 16, 8 and 77 shares and 7 abstentions, of 15, 468, 8, 8, 6, 16 and 121 shares.

After the intervention of one of the shareholders, Ignacio del Valle, explaining his vote against, José Ramón Fernández, one of the new directors, took the floor and was concise: “We are not going to charge a single penny for the work in Oviedo. It is an honor to be here and work for you. We have our salary from the Pachuca group”.

Given the Mexican’s explanation, the fan asked the notary to change the meaning of his decision and eliminate the vote against the charge by the managers.

Javier de la Orden, representative of Verae (the company that advises the club on legal and economic matters), qualified that “what is intended is that the contracts for the provision of services of Manolo Paredes are paid and the salary of our CEO and president (Martín Peláez) can be remunerated because he will dedicate all his time and effort. No retribution is foreseen other than these two concepts”.
