Jonathan Isaac finally returns to five against five

It has been more than two years since Jonathan Isaac played his last game in the NBA. On August 2, 2020, the Magic forward fell with a knee injury in the Orlando bubble. Not long after, the rupture of his cruciate ligament would be confirmed, from which he has relapsed several times. When the franchise announced last February that Isaac would finally miss two full seasons, they set training camp as a target for his long-awaited return. However, with the competition entering its third week, the reboot has not happened and there is no date for it yet. Although the player has been training five against five for weeks.

This is one of the last phases in the recovery from a long-term injury. But that it lasts for many weeks is not usually the best of signs. For his part, Isaac has made it clear that he feels no pain. “I keep trying to get back in shape. But when it comes to my body, knees and muscle pain everything is going great. I’m just not in shape to play », he assures in statements to the Orlando Snetinel. Precisely the muscular problems that they mention were the ones that caused his definitive withdrawal last year. He now says he feels “fantastic.”

The player assures that his return is only a matter of regaining physical form, but neither he nor the franchise dare to give a date. “At the moment I am playing games four times a week. Obviously, he hadn’t in a long time. Right now I am focused on being able to maintain intensity and match efforts. The Magic, who don’t feel any competitive urgency by occupying the bottom of the East, aren’t going to rush him.
