While the final of the Italian Novice B Championship was held in Ostia, Baku in Azerbaijan hosted the Grand Slam this weekend. Athletes from 61 nations competed on the mats to earn points valid for world rankings.
Italy returns home with 5 medals, an important result that shows once again that our athletes are there and very competitive.
The silver of Francesca Milani at the cat. 48 kg and the bronze of Odette Giuffrida In the 52 kg category, they open the first day of the Grand Slam, followed by bronze Christian Paraty at the cat. 90 kg, the bronze of Pirelli Gennaro at the cat. 100K and last but not least actually the gold of Alice Belladi at the cat. 78
Alice’s gold was endured and earned, an amazing race that step by step managed to beat all her opponents and get to the top step of the podium.
also good Giacomo Gamba who fails the bronze final and finishes in 5th place and to everyone else who quit during the elimination phase.
