Injured in the foot, Tiger Woods finally withdraws from the Hero World Challenge

Announced for several weeks, the return of Tiger Woods will not finally take place in the Bahamas this Thursday. The Tiger was indeed forced to give up due to foot pain.

Host of the tournament played in Albany, Bahamas, Tiger Woods was due to return to competition after several months away from the fairways. Alas, Tiger fans will still have to take their troubles patiently.

Indeed, Woods withdrew on Monday evening and will not finally start the event which brings together twenty invited players, including six of the top ten in the world rankings.

The player at the 15 Majors suffers from plantar fasciitis in his right foot, an inflammation of the thick band of tissue that connects the heel bone to the toes and which causes severe pain. He will be replaced by the Austrian Sepp Straka.

One week delayed return?

The Tigre has not appeared in competition since his missed cut at The Open that he played under Covid and doubt now hangs over his presence at the start of The Match (December 10).

The use of carts being authorized in this exhibition by team that Woods must play alongside Rory McIlroywe should find it at Pelican Golf Club to face Justin Thomas et Jordan Spieth.

It is also highly anticipated in 3 weeks at PNC Championship (December 18-19) with her son, Charlie, after having announced that they wanted to take part in this event for the 3rd consecutive year.
