Palencia crowned the Ibizan players this weekend with two gold medals, one silver and one bronze in the Spanish U11 and U19 badminton championships. All the medals obtained by the Pitiusa expedition in the national competition were registered in the doubles modality, where the excellent work that has been carried out by the clubs and the island delegation can be seen.
Ricardo Rettig was the most successful volante player at the national event in Palencia after winning two gold medals, one in the men’s doubles and another in the mixed together with his partner Carmen Jiménez in the junior division. In addition, M. Martín won the silver medal in the men’s doubles in a final with a marked Pitiuso accent. The bronze went to the mixed doubles by Tomás Coll and Elba Ribas in sub11.
Special mention for Carmen Jiménez, who, being under 17, reached the gold medal in a higher category.
