Spain has in its hand the classification for the next World Cup. After a tough win in Pésaro, selection led by Sergio Scariolo can certify the ticket for the World Cup against the Netherlands. Without Euroleague and NBA players, the national team demonstrated again against Italy why it is the best team on the continent and one of the best in the world.
Now the Netherlands is ahead, visiting Huelva as the last in the group, without victories. In the match of the first round the Spaniards prevailed comfortably away from home. The result was from 64 to 86 at the end of August, just four days before starting the feat of the Eurobasket that would end with Spain taking the glory.
If the Spanish team wins, the classification would be sealed in the absence of two match windows, February and August 2023. If so, those of scario would join Finland, Canada, Ivory Coast, New Zealand and Lebanon as teams qualified for the World Cup. Japan and the Philippines also have a place as organizers of the event.
