Hamburg Towers lose 75:103 in the EuroCup against London Lions | Sports

Next slap for the Towers.

After the clap against BBL leader Bonn (72:101), Towers trainer Raoul Korner (48) had demanded a reaction in the EuroCup. But it only lasted five minutes…

Four days later there was the next pack against the London Lions: 75:103 (41:55). The fourth bankruptcy in a row across all competitions!

“We have to be much clearer in all actions,” said coach Raoul Korner (48). “And defensively find our way back to our strength.”

The Towers started energetically in front of the EuroCup record crowd of 2066 fans, leading 16:8 (5th). Then they made all the old mistakes against the second in the British league: 20 ball losses, bad throws, no defensive access.

In addition, imports such as James Woodard (28) or Marvin Clark (28) that are planned as top performers are completely beside themselves.

The result: Hamburgers are treading water. Development? None!

If Lukas Meisner (27) and Yoeli Childs (24, 19 points each) hadn’t had such a good day, the gossip would have been even worse.

Childs: “As crazy as it sounds, we’ve improved on the Bonn game in terms of body language and effort. But dropping over 100 points is not acceptable. Everyone is responsible for it.”

The league continues in Crailsheim on Saturday (8.30 p.m., Magenta Sport).
