The first archery open recently organized by Arc en Roque kept all its promises and brought together an audience from all over the surrounding towns, Roquefort of course but also Portel-des-Corbières, Sigean, La Palme … in the Dans’Arc room.
Confirmed or beginner archers competed on tri-spot targets (targets reduced to 3 colors, blue, red and yellow, aligned vertically) in 6 ends of 3 arrows with the aim of achieving the best score.
Beginners were initially initiated by Bernard, the club’s coach and placed at a distance more in relation to their abilities so that they were not disadvantaged against more seasoned archers.
Thus, from 10 a.m., the organizers welcomed young and old, alone or with family and allowed them in turn to practice in this competition open to all with the possibility of trying their luck a second time in sight. to improve their score.
At 4 p.m., the betting was done and the outcome of this open made it possible to determine the results with, for the youth category (7 to 14 years old), the victory of Héloise Cutillas, of Roquefort, of Laëtitia Vialle de Sigean in the women’s category. and Bruno Girlando de Roquefort in the men’s category.
The trophies and medals were presented to the belligerents by Luc Castan, mayor of the town to the applause of a friendly public and it was around pastries and drinks offered by the town that this beautiful day ended.
