Full English League Cup Results: Elkan Baggott and Man City Qualify, Arsenal Expelled All

KOMPAS.com – Clubs defended by Elkan Baggott, Gillingham FC and Manchester City qualified for the fourth round of the English League Cup. Meanwhile, Arsenal were eliminated by fellow Premier League teams, Brighton & Hove Albion.

The English League Cup or Carabao Cup has entered the third round or round of 32.

A total of 15 matches in the third round of the 2022-2023 English League Cup will be held on Wednesday (9/11/2022) and Thursday (10/11/2022) early morning WIB.

As for one more match, namely Manchester United vs Aston Villa, it will only be held on Friday (11/11/2022).

One of the surprises created in the third round of the 2022-2023 English League Cup was the success of League Two club, Gillingham FC, in kicking Premier League contestants, Brentford.

Competing at the Brentford Community Stadium, Gillingham, who was strengthened by the Indonesian national team defender, Elkan Baggott, managed to beat the host Brentford via a penalty shootout.

Previously, in normal time, Brentford and Gillingham drew 1-1.

In addition to Gillingham’s surprise that managed to eject Brentford, the third round of the English League Cup was also decorated with duels between fellow Premier League teams.

Arsenal, whose performance is on the rise in the league, actually got bad results in the English League Cup.

The Gunners fell in the third round after losing 1-3 to Brighton.

Similar fate also experienced by Arsenal’s neighboring team, Tottenham Hotspur. Antonio Conte’s squad lost to Newcastle United on penalties.

Man City managed to secure a place in the fourth round aka the last 8 thanks to a 2-0 win over Chelsea.

Two goals for Josep “Pep” Guardiola’s troops were scored by Riyad Mahrez each in the 53rd minute and Julian Alvarez in the 58th minute.

At Anfield Stadium, Liverpool had to struggle to get rid of League One club, Derby County.

Playing a goalless draw in normal time, Liverpool were finally able to beat Derby on penalties.
