The World Cup in Qatar is next Tuesday for the France team, with a first meeting against Australia (8 p.m.). This Monday, the FFF gave one more indication by revealing the jersey numbers that the 26 players selected by Didier Deschamps will wear.
Unsurprisingly, the executives keep their favorite number: Karim Benzema on 19 (he has worn it since his return to selection at Euro 2021), Kylian Mbappé on 10, Olivier Giroud on 9, Antoine Griezmann on 7. The Hernandez brothers, Lucas and Théo, follow each other with 21 and 22, while Benjamin Pavard has 2. In goal, Hugo Lloris will have 1, Steve Mandanda 16, and Alphonse Aréola 23.
For their first major international competition, the newcomers are finally fixed: Axel Disasi recovers the 3rd from Presnel Kimpembe, Mathéo Guendouzi the 6th from Paul Pogba, Youssouf Fofana the 13th from N’Golo Kanté. Christopher Nkunku will wear 12, Jordan Veretout 15 and Eduardo Camavinga 25. Finally, called at the last minute by Didier Deschamps, Marcus Thuram will logically wear 26, as at the last Euro.
