Leipzig celebrated their sixth competitive win in a row and confirmed their excellent form in a fast-paced but balanced game. The Saxons have won the twelfth of 16 games since coach Marco Rose took office. With the first big chance, Andre Silva (13th) scored the Leipzig lead. Christian Groß (57th) equalized with a deflected shot from the edge of the penalty area, but Schlager made sure of the final score.
Leipzig is second on 28 points and six points behind FC Bayern Munich, who won 2-0 at Schalke 04, but can be relied on on Sunday by the winner of the chasing duel SC Freiburg against Union Berlin (both 27) and Frankfurt (26) be overtaken again. Eintracht makes a guest appearance in Mainz.
Bayern don’t let anything burn at Schalke
Bayern, led by the outstanding young German star Jamal Musiala, showed their offensive skills against the tail light, even if Torfabrik didn’t manage to win this time. Leverkusen continues upward trend

The 2-0 win over VfB Stuttgart thanks to goals from Moussa Diaby (30′) and Jonathan Tah (82′) was the third win in a row and the Werkself made it into the middle of the table. Stuttgart, on the other hand, remained without an away win throughout the calendar year and spent the winter in relegation place 16.
VfL Bochum clinched their first away points of the season with a 1-0 win at FC Augsburg and are penultimate to just one point behind Stuttgart and Hertha BSC (2-0 home win against 1. FC Köln) and two points behind Augsburg . The Swabians missed a great chance to equalize two minutes after Christopher Antwi-Adjei’s Bochum goal (58′) when Mergim Berisha failed to convert a penalty.
