Foot – Liga – Victorious in Elche, Girona FC takes shelter before the truce of the World Cup in Qatar

Girona won its second consecutive success on Tuesday evening (the first outside) which allows it to remain in the soft underbelly of the classification until the end of December.

Badly embarked, the match in Elche finally turned to the advantage of Girona (1-2), this Tuesday evening. Undefeated for four days (a first since the start of the season), the Catalans are settling in the soft underbelly of La Liga and they will stay there, at least, until the end of December. This 14th day is indeed the last before the international break linked to the World Cup in Qatar.

This Tuesday, Girona FC moved to the last Elche who had just landed his coach for insufficient results (4 points and no victory). The Valencians were also the first to score by the former Marseille Pol Lirola (16).

But since drawing at the Bernabeu against Real Madrid two weeks ago, Girona have not been the same. And after a success over Athletic Bilbao, confidence is back and, already a scorer last Friday, Ivan Martin found the target in Elche (39) before Taty Castellanos, the Argentine striker who had been silent since August 22, finally gave the victory to the “Blanc i Vermell” (66).

A success, the first outside this season, which allows the Catalans to breathe a few weeks after having rubbed shoulders with the relegation zone. They now have almost two months to prepare for a daunting January which will see Rayo Vallecano, Sevilla and Barca come to Montilivi while trips to Espanyol Barcelona and Villarreal will be on the menu.

Victory away from Elche! 3 points that do a lot of good before the break! 16 points on the clock and we are moving away from the red zone.
Ivan Martin again scorer and especially Taty Castellanos who scores and it will do him good for the future! pic.twitter.com/dD1Qlw78pP
