Regatas Corrientes recovers a key piece in its basketball structure. Facundo Piñero started working on the field and the time for his debut in the National Basketball League (LNB) season is closer.
“Faca” is doing individual technical work and reviewing the team’s systems, without opposition, in the game rectangle and it is expected that next week he will be able to join the rest of his teammates.
The power forward from Mar del Plata played last tournament with Regatas. During the break he traveled to Mexico where he played for Fuerza Regia, however an injury left him out of that team and brought forward his return to Fantasma.
In the Mexican team, Piñero suffered a soleus tear in his right leg and since he arrived in Corrientes he continued with his rehabilitation process and was still unable to play under Fernando Rivero.
With the works in the rectangle, the time to play again is closer and it is likely that he will be available to the coaching staff for the game on Thursday 17 when Regatas hosts Mercedes Communications at the José Jorge Contte stadium.
The Regatas squad trained yesterday in double shift seeking to oil the collective operation, correcting errors and seeking solidity in its structure for the return of the League, today in a pause for the dispute of the qualifiers for the 2023 World Cup.
Regatas accumulates 4 losses and 2 wins so far in this League. The last match was played on October 31 when they appeared in Oberá and lost to the local OTC in double overtime.
