32 fans, 32 stories, 1 World Cup.
Each nation that qualifies for a world Cup of FIFA creates lasting memories for its fans during the tournament.
It doesn’t matter if they are eliminated in the group stage, progress to the last 16 or even lift the trophy after winning the final, all fans are given memories and stories that they can – and will – pass on for years to come.
In the brand new 90min series ‘Faces of Football’the stories and memories created by all 32 nations of the 2022 FIFA World Cup will be documented.
With the help of Goal Click, 90min brought together a group of 32 football fanatics – one representing each nation – to tell the stories of how they are supporting their respective nations, why they are supporting their respective nations and what it means to qualify their nation for them.
To tell the stories of each fan base, each of the 32 fans wrote a letter to their national team, detailing their lives as fans and how the team has shaped them – and sometimes even giving some insightful tactical advice to national team officials and providing some motivational words for players.
From the man who designs flags for the Argentine fans, to a Japanese fan who will be in Qatar dressed as Maya Yoshida, to an American couple who have watched a total of 257 games for the USMNT in 18 different countries over the last 20 years, the eclectic team of Faces of Football tells many fan stories over the years.
