At one time, the Lukáš Endál – Miroslav Třetina duo was the most feared in the 2nd league. They were able to play blindly when they appeared on the ice, it meant the level of greatest danger for the opponent’s defense. However, they also took Havlíčkův Brod twice to the tie for the Chance League. Lukáš Endál now talks about his relationship with his hockey twin, shared memories and a stop-in in the Pardubice reserve.

During the season you helped the first league reserve Pardubice, how long did the negotiations about your temporary engagement in the east of Bohemia take?
It was very fast. I remember that after training the management called me to ask if I would be interested in helping the Pardubice B team and I said yes. So I packed up and basically left immediately. I am very happy for this opportunity. I think that she helped both me and, perhaps, Pardubice as well.

Did you feel at the beginning of the season that you needed a kick?
No, I always prepare the same way. When things don’t go as expected, you just have to give it a lot more and it doesn’t matter where you play. In addition, it is always important to help the team, team success is essential. It’s not so much about your individual stats, although it’s clear that when productivity is expected of you, you should be scoring. But I was mainly tempted to try if I still had what it takes to compete professionally.

And you succeeded, scoring six times in twelve games. How did the young team from Pardubice affect you, was there a blanket on it?
Not even a blanket, the boys are young, smart. Many of them have great careers ahead of them, but it was clear that they still lacked a bit of experience. When you have more senior players in your team, they have already gone through many difficult situations during their career, which is obvious.

“I was tempted to try if I still had enough for a professional competition.”

So, in short, young people lack calmness in decisive moments?
You could say that. They are players who are just gaining experience. But I believe that they will go up as the season progresses, because they have talent. I think the Pardubice reserve Chance will keep the league. Although we did not collect many points, the game as such was not bad.

Your continuation in Pardubice was not in the game?
To be honest, I don’t know. The clubs decide this among themselves, I, as a player, do not interfere.

“I think the Pardubice reserve Chance will keep the league.”

Is the Chance League different this year than you remember it from before?
I have to say the difference is big. The competition has accelerated. There are a lot of young guys playing it, so the game is faster and overall easier. I remember from before that when there were more older guys in the first league, they played more combined and with a hockey stick. I’m not saying that such elements are not there now, but mainly speed prevails. Likewise, I think the league is much more systemic.

Narrowing down the competition helped a lot, didn’t it?
One hundred percent, the quality went up. Now you can watch every match because there is something at stake in each one.

You are stable in Tábor, who wants the Chance League. Will it be possible to advance this year?
We are trying to do it, we are certainly not going the wrong way. If I evaluate the matches since my return, we didn’t play them badly. Although we lost against Letňany, it wasn’t bad there either. Of course, there is always room for improvement, but the team has quality.

“I remember from before that when there were more older guys in the first league, they played more combined and with the hockey stick.”

Before the season, there was quite an earthquake in the Tábor squad, so the team needs to find some chemistry, right?
Yeah, you’re right about that. It took a while to settle in, but I’d say it’s settling in now. The cabin is great. Although we have matches where the performances are still not quite ideal, I would say that we are improving in terms of performance.

A few days ago, your longtime partner had a career farewell in Havlíčková Brod

That’s right, if we didn’t have a match, I’d definitely go to at least watch it. I would really like to play with Míra one more time,
